Word slowly got around that my designs were pretty good, and a couple more people started asking for track plans and such. I did them and, marked with my new copyright, sent them on their way. One night, I was designing a paint scheme for a locomotive on the computer, and I marked it with my copyright, as I had done many times, but I accidentally clicked in the wrong spot and ended up with my copyright notice, in that font, on the long hood of a locomotive. Wow, I thought, that looks pretty good. So, I got another blank locomotive drawing and put the font down the side, then did the paint and details, and asked a few friends what they thought. That's how Siderod Rail Leasing was born.

Armed with a new copyright and a new leasing paint scheme, I decided that, since people liked this enough, I might as well start advertising and do what I can to advance the hobby. So, here we are today, with a Siderod Design webpage.

As it is Today, SRDesign has been around for just over a year. I've done track plans for 2 dozen people, and paint scheme designs for several, as well. Things are starting to take off, and I'm still really having fun with all this, so I plan to continue doing all this in the hopes of furthering the hobby as far as I can and making track planning easier for people, regardless of money...if I get money, fine...great, even! But if someone can't afford me, I won't turn them away. They deserve a layout as much as the next guy. I know the boat they float in...Money is hard to come by at times, even for those with a full-time job. I'm not one of those people that charge ungodly rates for track planning, and all my work is custom to your specs, making it that much more personal and valuable!
